The use of ethanol in gasoline in the US last year reduced CO2-equivalent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the transportation sector by 54.1 million tons, according to a report by the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA).

The ethanol industry produced 15.8 billion gallons of ethanol and contributed $43 billion to the nation’s economy in 2019, according to a new report.

E15 sales in Minnesota in 2019 closed at 78.52 million gallons, a new all-time high.

Ethanol comprised 12.4 percent of all transportation fuel consumed in Minnesota in 2018, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). However, overall ethanol consumption in the country declined that year as the EPA's RFS waivers to the oil industry began to take a toll. 

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking input from stakeholders to create a Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) to expand the availability of ethanol and biodiesel blends.

It's official. 2019 was a record year for E15 sales in Minnesota. 

The EPA's final RVO for 2020, which does not fully account for gallons that will be lost to the issuance of small refinery exemptions, has been met with stinging criticism from the ethanol industry and its advocates. Minnesota's senators, Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, along with Rep. Collin Peterson, issued the following statements.
