MN Led In Ethanol Consumption Ratio In 2020

Ethanol comprised 12.67 percent of all transportation fuel consumed in Minnesota in 2020, according to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

At 12.67 percent, Minnesota's ethanol consumption ratio was the highest in the nation. Iowa was second at 11.5 percent. In 2019, the ethanol consumption ratio in Minnesota was 12.61 percent.

In total, the ethanol consumption ratio was above 10 percent in 33 states in 2020, up from 31 in 2019. Indiana and Kentucky were the latest states to go above 10 percent in 2020 with both states registering ratios of 10.07 percent.

Nationally, the ethanol consumption ratio was 10.24 percent in 2020, up from 10.19 percent in 2019.
