In comparison to the previous month, the volume sold in October was 5.8 percent higher than the 11.63 million gallons recorded in September this year. It should be noted that the Commerce Department had previously reported 11.59 million gallons for September, which has now been revised to 11.63 million gallons. 

Meanwhile, the volume sold in October marked the fifth month Unleaded 88 sales in Minnesota exceeded the 12-million-gallon mark in 2024. Unleaded 88 sales in Minnesota first breached the 12-million-gallon barrier in May with sales of 12.68 million gallons. 

On a cumulative basis, 119.08 million gallons of Unleaded 88 was sold in Minnesota from January to October this year. 

This represents a 14 percent increase from the 104.44 million gallons sold over the same period in 2023. 

In 2023, the full year volume was 127.55 million gallons.
